Wolfenbüttel, April 2019. Mast-Jägermeister SE continued its international growth track in 2018. Sales increased by 5 percent for a total of 7.5 million 9- litre cases (2017: 7.2 million). With this performance, the company’s growth rate exceeded that of the international premium spirits market, which grew by 3.5 percent during the same time period (source: Impact Top 100 ranking). The Jägermeister brand is currently distributed in more than 140 countries and is the best-selling liqueur worldwide. International sales continue to make up approximately 80 percent of all revenues.

Besides the German domestic market, major contributors to this positive development were the regions Eastern Europe, Asia, Latin America and Middle East/Africa. Michael Volke, CEO of Mast-Jägermeister SE, is especially pleased with the international market growth: “We are seeing the results of our long- term investments in the Jägermeister brand and our consistent efforts to build our international presence.”

In Eastern Europe, the company continued its recent track record of rapid growth, while also reaching an agreement with long-standing distribution partner Rémy Cointreau concerning the acquisition of two distribution companies in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Since 1 April, the two companies and their 83 employees are a part of the global Jägermeister group.

Exceptional growth was achieved in Asia, where China has become a major sales engine and a significant emerging market for the Jägermeister brand.

Michael Volke remains optimistic in his assessment for the current year: “Of course, our goal for 2019 is to continue our strong growth from the past year and keep driving our sales and expanding our market presence. But we are also facing a global economy that is showing signs of a downturn. With the underlying factors in mind, we are currently expecting a moderate increase in sales.”
